A touch of Spiced Apple takes mulled wine in a sensational new direction – adding an intense punch of appley sweetness and a beautifully balanced blend of star anise, cardamom, cinnamon and ginger.
Spiced Apple Mulled Wine
Ingredients (makes 10 medium glasses)
8 Taylors Spiced Apple tea bags
2 bottles red wine
2 cinnamon sticks
2 star anise
To serve: slices of apple.
Gently heat the wine in a saucepan until it’s almost at boiling point – it will get warm and steamy, but don’t let it bubble.
Take it off the heat and add the tea bags (removing the tags first) along with the cinnamon, star anise and orange slices.
Cover, letting the flavours infuse for 15 minutes.
Take out the teabags, fruit and spices – ideally by straining the mulled wine through a sieve.
Serve in a glass or a mug and garnish with apple slices.
